Just came back from a fabulous trip to Panama (Pipeline/Gamboa area) 59 lifers in just 2 1/2 days including exotics like Great Jacamar and a migrant like Mourning Warbler (the guide I was with was most excited with the warbler, go figure) and my favorite resident, the Green Shrike-Vireo (not a lifer, seen previously when there). Cool to see "our" Black and White Warbler in a mixed flock of tropical flycatchers, tanagers and honeycreepers in a rainforest.
Anyway, took advantage of having the day off and headed to AD Barnes. Great weather and some nice birds. Highlights included:
Red-Shouldered Hawk (quite tame and seemed to follow me a little) Not the Florida race.
Ruby-Throated Hummingbird
Yellow-Bellied Sapsucker (juvenile)
White-Eyed Vireo
Blue-Headed Vireo
Gray Catbird
Black-Throated Blue Warbler (female)
Black-Throated Green Warbler (female)
Palm Warbler
Pine Warbler (many)
Prairie Warbler
Black and White Warbler
At the pond: Green Heron, Moorhen, Tricolored Heron
