I was kayaking off Matheson Hammock last Sunday, and the flight of Great Pondhawks that Bryant mentions was very evident there, as well. There were 10-15 of these very large green dragonflies in sight at all times, mostly headed south. The photo at the link below doesn't show any dragonflies, but it does give an idea of what a beautiful day it was out there. The water was gin clear with the bottom fully in view, even at depths of 8-10 ft in the wide entrance to the tidal creek south of the Wading Beach.

Another interesting "flight" observed was several Southern Stingrays cruising the flats, often in less than a foot of water. One was the size of a card table, and it nearly startled me into capsizing when it took off fast at my approach, leaving clouds of silt in its wake.
