As I recall Roger that was a couple of years ago, and according to Cynthia Guerra, she told me that the county screwed up on that one by starting the work on the wetlands before informing the public, namely the property owners surrounding Bill Sadowski. According to Cynthia, she said something like the neighbors woke up one morning and found all that area cleared of trees, etc. They started asking questions and making phone calls and complaints to the mayor. Everyone in that neighborhood jumped to conclusions and believed that the proposed project would attract mosquitoes galore. And you know how surburia hate mosquitoes. My neighborhood has been sprayed 3 times this summer, always killing the dozens of butterflies I attract to my garden. And the mosquitoes return everytime with a vengeance. What a waste. Anyway, the mayor was politically pressured and appeared to have no choice but to side with his constituents. I would have replied off-line, but an e-mail address has not been provided.
