As noted earlier,we are experiencing a large number of brown thrashers at Hoechoka Hammock (Sawgrass and University). Natural feed is abundant and the 193 species of native vegetation assure that something is in berry at any month. However, we occasionally note that the brown thrashers will visit bird feeders and usually don't stay but a second or two. We have millet, milo, suet, sunflower, peanuts, corn, wheat germ, nijer, and safflower. What would they be after? Has anyone had success drawing thrashers to feeders?
