From the "population" section of the Masked Duck entry in "Waterfowl: an Identification Guide to the Ducks, Geese and Swans of the World" by Steve Madge and Hilary Burn (1988) is this concluding statement: "Strangely, it also appears not to be kept in captivity".
Interesting, though it's still worth checking with the local aviculturalists.
