Early shorebird migration?

Following is an interesting article regarding nesting species in northern Manitoba. A severely cold spring has delayed nesting in northern Canada by at least 3 weeks. It will be interesting to see if delayed (or failed) nesting translates into adult shorebirds heading our way earlier than usual. Along with shorebirds, loons, some sparrows and pelagic species are at risk.
