For Snail Kite you may want to try the mound at Hidden Lake in ENP, as you drive into ENP make a left at Royal Palm turnoff then make your first right. Follow this road till you get to a stop sign, you will see a sign with Hidden Lake on it just past the stop sign. Drive forward and continue on the graded road till you get to a gate at the end, park and walk looking for Snail Kite on both sides of the trail. They often like to perch in the cypress trees on the south side, if not you can look around this marsh maybe you will come up with one. There are marshes past the mound as well but the walk can become a long walk. They have been seen regularly at this spot this year.
Tamiami Trail just past Shark Valley used to be a good spot but as Alex mentioned with all the water around the Kites may be further into the marsh.
By the way Everglades National Park is FREE this weekend for Father Day, good luck out there.
Nature is Awesome
