I went out there last Monday and failed to find a Snail Kite despite a good effort. The dry season is better for them, but I gave it a shot. I did see a Limpkin out there, as well as many wading birds.
On the trip to Flamingo, you will see several herons and egrets, White Ibis, Wood Stork, and maybe a Roseate Spoonbill around Paurotis Pond or Flamingo. The Pa-hay-okee Overlook may be worth checking for Snail Kites, but I missed them there as well two weeks ago. In Flamingo, check for Shiny Cowbirds near the visitor center, and Black-necked Stilts at Eco Pond. White-crowned Pigeon and Gray Kingbird should both be around. It will be very, very buggy.
Good luck.
