Question about singing blackbird

I went to Yamato Scrub in search of the Wood Duck, but he was not obvious or there. The Ospreys were great fun to watch.

Big question - I spotted a black bird perched at the top of a tree, singing VERY melodically, like a warbler song. It was a beautiful song that he repeated several times. He was really the only bird in sight and it was quiet, so the song really stood out. Looking at my photo and bird guides, I have narrowed him down to a cowbird or look-alike. Way too small for a grackle, no yellow eyes, not a redwing, not a starling, etc.

I listened to cowbird songs on the internet, and they are NOTHING like what I heard. This truly was a songbird masterpiece, with no harsh notes or gutteral sounds or chattering at all. Could this still be a cowbird, maybe one who picked up a song from his foster family? If not, any suggestions on other ID's? Thanks for any help.
