Today I did some "before-school-starts" birding.
I pulled of with some good species, and mostly searched for shorebirds. I had 13 shorebirds, with 2 good lifers.

Homestead Racetrack Fields. I had some help fom Paul Bithorn:
Lesser Yellowlegs 2
Short-billed Dowitcher 1; came within about 5 feet of the head almost hitting me!
Pectoral Sandpipers: literally hundreds!!! lifer
Black-necked Stilts- about 10 with one mobbing me
Least Sandpipers- about a hundred
Killdeer- alot

Also Bank, Tree, Barn and Cave Swallows.
One Bank came about 5 feet away from me!

Crandon Park:
Here is where the fun starts...
Sanderling- about a hundred-150
Ruddy Turnstone- around 40
Least Sandpiper- about 10
Semipalmated Sandpiper 1; lifer. Compared side-by-side with Least Sandpiper. It was in full breeding plumage.
Wilson's Plover- 1 juvenile
Piping Plover- about 15!
Semipalmated Plover- about 20
Spotted Sandpiper- about 5
Short-billed Dowitcher- 3 in breeding plumage.

Not like Raul's and Steffan's shorebird day, but still fun to do!
