Trey,
As a thank you to Eagle Eye for showing me her cool birds, I dragged her to Anhinga trail before sunset Saturday evening to look for the Snail Kites.
I had previously waited there once before and was rewarded with a fly by of the juvie Snail Kite at the Alligator Overlook and was hoping we would find it again.
At 730 pm just as the sun was starting to go down we were pleased to see not one but all three of the Kites fly in to roost!!!
Give it a try- Alligator Overlook platform-look South (to the right) where the water goes into an out of sight pond . There is a tree on the left hand side where the birds fly into and roost.
They apparently do not like noise and lots of bipeds on the platform , so try to keep quiet.
A nice trio with three colors, juvie, dark brown and what looked to be a molting into gray bird.
Light and positioning can be abysmal for pics but still worth seeing the birds....
