I went down to the Annex and C111e this evening to try and get some photos and a Bird of the Day.

Thanks goes to Julie (Eagle Eyes) and Trisha who found and showed us a great bunch of birds at a fruiting tree down in the annex on Saturday.

At the annex today there were fewer birds but there were still 3 Scarlet Tanager, a Swainson's Thrush, 2 Black-whiskered Vireo, Blue-headed Vireo, Swallow-tailed Kite and a young Barred Owl. The light was good but something spooked the all the birds before I got my photos.

I stopped at C111e after reading Dan's post to look for the Gray-cheeked Thrush. I found no warblers and no thrush. I was too late to catch them before they headed north...

Oh well...

I'm going to bird all day tomorrow looking for South Florida Specialties with Peter from New Jersey. He tried for Ani this afternoon and dipped on those, but had a great time at Green Cay.

Hope to see the Bulbuls and Spotbreasted Orioles early in the morning. If anyone has a reliable place for either other than across from Baptist Hospital please let me know. He also would like to see Snail Kite, Black-whiskered Vireo and Mangrove Cuckoo.
