Given that no one has ever seen a Red-breasted Blackbird (Sturnella militaris) in ABA territory before, Scarlet Tanager is very likely what you saw. I suggest you look at a field guide of North American birds first (these are pretty common in bookstores) before reaching your conclusion on an ID. Again, sorry to say that it is very highly unlikely that what you saw was a Red-breasted Blackbird.
