Dear birders, i filmed 2 lesser nighthawks in south florida, both at the beginning and end of March, and wanted to ask about the ethics of posting about these birds at all, because 1. they are in a vulnerable location easily subject to disruption and 2. they are such low flyers that they could actually be hit easily by cars. At the risk of incurring the ire of others in the birding community i just wanted to mention that the birds were easily confirmed, and not until today did i notice their "occasional" status in the Pranty bar graph charts. They are much more easily seen in the southwestern U.S., so I just don't feel comfortable divulging their location. So, dear moderator, if you think this post will be received negatively, please delete it. Thank you for your understanding.
