If a trip to Palm Beach County is too out of the way, you can check along the Tamiami Trail for both species. Snail Kite is much easier to find on the north side of the road once you get about 15-20 miles west of Krome Avenue. Limpkin can be found at Shark Valley, which is a northern entrance to Everglades National Park. You chances for them may be greater around dusk, however. They are actually harder to find in Miami-Dade County.
