The La Sagra's called briefly at first without showing itself, but then came out into the open giving the group that was there fantastic looks. It called several times and chased away a Cardinal at one point. It was located in the trees on the near side of the lake where it narrows. Walk past the stone shelter and continue SE towards a picnic table. It first came to the nearest mangrove to the table. Listen for its distinct loud "wheat" call. The call note is slightly longer and more liquidy than a Brown-cresteds, but not as long as that of a Great-crested.
