Luckily, for anyone interested, the Comparative Cognition Society, an international scientific society that specializes in animal cognition, meets annually in Melbourne, FL. I will actually be attending the conference next week (and presenting a talk on one facet of N. bobwhite cognition). The meeting usually has talks on everything from dolphins to lemurs, to rats and pigeons, to dogs and cats, etc., etc. It is pretty diverse and very international, although geared mainly toward other scientists. Such conferences are always open to anyone willing to pay the registration fee, though.
