Wayne Hoffman showed a brilliantly colored Scarlet Ibis to me and Margo McKnight on June 14, 1988 in the keys. I know he had contacted local zoos and collections, who claimed not to be missing any of this species. I believe he had been in contact w/ornithologists in Cuba who reported recent sightings there. That's all I remember, will see if I have other notes...
