Today (2/27) I also searched Snake Bight Trail for less common passerines and ran into a remnant of Carlos's Pine Siskin flock. Six birds were in a Jamaican Dogwood near the end of the trail. They sang and chattered softly, infrequently giving their signature upslurred "zzeeee." A flock of 13+ American Goldfinches was feeding in the buttonwoods near the Rowdy Bend intersect.
The trail had a good variety of woodpeckers, vireos, warblers and buntings. Two Louisiana Waterthrushes countersang near the trail entrance and a Painted Bunting sang near the south end.
