This morning on my way back north from Dump Marsh (found the Tropical Kingbird and the Louisiana Waterthrush - thanks Toe) I stopped at Matheson to be greeted by four police cars and several distraught car owners just inside the gates. Several smash and grabs so decided not to stay. This was between 9:30 and 10 AM. Leave nothing in your car, even sun glasses.
Lots of gulls at Cutler Wetlands but no Black-headed. A swamp buggy tractor was driving through the wetlands spraying water in the very dry areas but few of the gulls, ducks or waders seemed to care.
