Between 5 and 10 years. I keep one of my 5 clipped because if she spooks she flys high. The rest are smart enough to land within a long pole's reach. One of the wild macaws must have been some body's pet because he/she sits on and in the cage with my birds; yet she/he comes in the morning and leaves with the wild macaws mid day. I live near the Old Parrot Jungle. There was a time the original owner let the birds fly free and there is a place in Costa Rica (www.borntoflyfree.com) where unwanted macaws are reintroduced to the wild.
