Jeanette, David and I at one point, kept to the rear of the pack at Green Cay, and were treated to a couple of Cooper's Hawk flyby. We can also add to the list, 2 more adult Sora feeding near the boardwalk at Wakodahatchee. And eagle-eye David, spotted a juvenile Red-shouldered Hawk down in the water near land's edge. The hawk was obscurred by dead reeds and Alligator flag. It appeared to be feeding on something. Then it started to flail and flap its wings as if it were stuck and trying to take off and/or release its prey possibly stuck in the reeds. We watched for about 10 minutes hoping as David said, "to see something dramatic, like the hawk flying off with a rabbit in each talon." Ha! A quick stop on the way home at John Lloyd State Park netted us the Great Cormorant on channel marker 5, but no Anis at or near the 800 Bldg. on Old Griffin Road.
