Accessing STA-5 via Holey Land/Rotenberger Rd.?

Hi,

My wife and I are signed up for STA-5 tomorrow morning. In the Florida Gazetteer, it looks like a person could go north on 27, west on the Holey Land/Rotenberger Rd., and continue on that levee after the pavement ends, eventually coming out by the dirt road to STA-5. Has anyone tried this? Would we run into gates? Any information would be much appreciated.
