We did see some good birds, but the numbers and variety were limited. We had some target birds that we have been able to get this time of year for the last several years that were no where to be found.

We saw a Barn Owl setting on the side of Research Rd. and found 2 White-tailed Kite off in the distance. We also saw a possible Short-eared Owl and several Northern Harrier. We also saw Sedge Wren that were cooperative and gave us good looks.

We saw one Brown Crested Flycatcher at near the Stop sign on Research Rd. and another one on Gumbo Limbo Trail.

At Anhinga Trail we was a couple of Purple Gallinule along with the usual other birds. The Gallinule are the first I've seen in the park in well over a year.

The greatest disappointments of the day were missing Bluebirds, Nuthatches and Ducks out past gate 15.

I did pick up several year birds and had a good time birding with Toe, Gary, Jocelyn, Angel and Mariel. Everyone picked up some new birds for their list except for Angel and Mariel who have "already seen that"!
