Mississippi Kite on Stretch?

This afternoon I saw a bird that I can only identify to be a Mississippi Kite flying/gliding/hunting above the wetlands/marsh area a few miles south of Fl Rock and Sand, east side of US 1. It was very close to the highway, flying south/parallel to the highway, and I got a good look at the underside of the bird. Is it possible? I've never seen one this far south.
