Frankly, TB, they sound a lot like siskins to me. The size is the issue. Sparrow size, unfortunately, covers a lot of ground as sparrows vary a lot by species. But bill is right; they are the size of goldfinches. It would be very, very unusual to see a flock of Bobolinks in a pine tree, though usually, in my experience, siskins prefer birch trees in the winter. Their call is more of a 'chut chut chut' sound, which is very un-blackbird. And the size of the flock would also imply siskins. I just don't know how common they are in mid-Florida in November; I live near Boston, and we get them with some regularity this time of year
