Trey called to say that after not finding the Rusty Blackbird in the morning, he went back at around 11:00 and found it in the same spot just before the Pay-hay-okee parking lot on the right side. He also found a Lincoln's Sparrow on the Pay-hay-okee road.

Trey also relocated the Le Conte's Sparrow at the field next to the C-111 canal. THe C-111 is the large canal before Lucky Hammok. Park on the west side of the canal and walk along the canal till, looking out for sparrows along the way. A planted field lies to the west. When the planted field ends and the fallow field begins, walk down onto the fallow field, making sure not to disturb the planted area, and walk along the edge, making sure to stay far enough from the berm to allow the sparrows room to perch on the dry stalks and snags along the berm. This is the east edge of the same field that lies east of Lucky Hammock. The Le Conte's was seen about 75 feet down from the point where the fallow field begins.

*This field is used by dove hunters on certain days. The hunting begins around noon, so morning are OK, but if you are in the area of Lucky Hammock or the C-111 later in the day make sure that there is no hunting going on. I think the hunts are only on weekends, but check to be sure.
