Roberto called this morning about his "Excellent" find of a Tropical Kingbird. Once we all got ready, we went to go and see it. It was on the phone wires by the landfill with a Western Kingbird which was a nice comparison. Both birds then flew to the barbwire fence on the south side of s.w. 248st. This fence surrounds the old landfill. We had more great views from there where I heard it call twice after being chased by a Loggerhead Shrike. I was able to get several photos of the bird but was not able to record the calls. Perhaps tomorrow I will have time to try for recordings if it stays.
