possible. I took a close look and couldn't be sure. It seemed too light a gray to be a catbird, and I think it was smaller than a catbird. Also, although there are catbirds in the brush sometimes about 120 yards west of us (in an fpl right of way), I doubt this shrike could or would have carried it all that way to the tree in front of my house. I think he caught it in the immediate vicinity, quite likely in that very tree, or very close to it. We never have catbirds near the house, I would be aware of them if they were here.
