They are easy to differentiate because they're of a different subspecies/race and occur in migration mostly. However, there was no mention as to how the RSHAs were determined to be of the darker Eastern migratory race in the original post i.e. no mention of "darker" or any such clue as to the non-resident race. Thus my question.
