I checked out E. side of C-111 E about 8:30 this morning and even with a NE breeze, the place was quite active. Some contestable birds I think I saw were a Least Flycatcher and a Thick-billed Vireo. The Least Flycatcher I'm pretty sure of by the shape of his eye-ring and his size. He was down low & was foraging with a Redstart. I couldn't figure what type of "warbler" he was until I realized he wasn't a warbler, but a Flycatcher. He was the same size as the Redstart.
The Thick-billed Vireo I'm not too sure of. It didn't have a white eye and it's eye-ring was yellow between the eye & bill and white behind the eye. It didn't have the yellow flanking and was olive-gray overall with lighter breast.
Other birds noted:
3 Prairie Warblers
Cape May Warbler
5+ Black-throated Blue Warblers
10+ Common Yellowthroats
2 Yellow-throated Warblers
10+ Redstarts
5+ Palm Warblers
2 Black and White Warblers
Northern Parula
Painted Bunting f.
10+ Cardinals
30+ Killdeer (flock, overhead)
Coopers Hawk
Blue Jays
2 Kestrals
I checke the W. side of the canal, but it wasn't as active, in fact, I heard more birds on the East side & wished I was back there. Is that being wishy-washy?
