Went out to Loop Rd. today and it was actually closed to all but local traffic. We went to the west entrance and drove our Corolla almost up to the Strand before deciding to walk the last half mile. Not a lot of birds but we finally saw our first panther after a couple of decades of looking! Also three deer that stayed on the road for ages giving us a great look. As far a birds, we hadn't seen a Eastern Meadowlark for quite awhile for some reason and we got a good look at one today on the road a little further west off of Tamiami.

Also:
Northern Parula
Northern Waterthrush (at least 3)
Great-crested Flycatcher
Red-eyed Vireo
Pied-billed Grebe
Belted Kingfisher
Cormorant (only one somehow...)
lots of egrets, herons, anhingas, and Red-shouldered Hawks -all of the regulars.
