Twice a year I go to Chile for vacation. In Summer I see a lot of wonderful birds. The most notable birds I see are:
Parrots
Southern lapwing
Plumbeous Rail
Common Moorhen
Bay-winged hawk
American Kestral
Chimango Caracara (most common)
White-tailed Kite
Eared Dove
Short-eared Owl
Barn Owl
Burrowing Owl
Great Horned Owl
Chilean Swallow
Green-backed firecrown
Chucao Tapaculo
Shiny Cowbird
Yellow-winged Blackbird
Long-tailed Meadowlark (awesome bird)
Austral Thrush
Fire-eyed Diucon
Grassland Yellow-finch
White-winged Diuca-Finch
Chilean Tinamou (like the bobwhite)
Californian Quail

Their also the house sparrow which nest every year around my house. The Diuca-Finch are having a problem nesting around the house. The cowbird nests in them. The diuca sing beautifully. This summer which is winter over their me and my cousins are going to build bird houses for houses wren, Chilean swallows(like the tree swallow) and American Kestral. The only problem in Chile is poachers. The common birds before are rare birds now. Chile has many species of birds like over here. One qustion: Can foreign birds be counted to my life list? Thankyou. Great Birding
