I checked out Crandon beach after work from 1:30-2:30. Nothing terribly unusual, and most birds were preparing to weather the storm. Most interesting were 5 Gull-billed Terns, with one still retaining a vestige of breeding plumage. Another surprise was a flock of 35 Pectoral Sandpipers. I don't think I've ever seen them on an ocean beach before. Piping Plover numbers have increased to 17 that I saw. There were also a whole bunch of Lesser Black-blacked Gulls, Sanderlings, Semipalmated and Black-bellied Plovers, Black Skimmers, and a few SB Dowitchers. Robin called me later to say she saw a couple of Wilson's Plovers, a sixth Gull-billed Tern, and a Red Knot after I left.

Cutler Wetlands is completely under water, so I got to see what it will look like in 50 years due to global warming. (wuamp, wuamp)
