But,did see Pectoral and a few Semipalmated Sandpipers, which are the first of the season for me. There was a nice concentration in the SW section of the wetlands. A Least Bittern was also seen in this area. The northern section is developing some decent flats, but this afternoon the gulls had taken over. Here's the list in a half hour from 6:00 to 6:30:
Semipalmated Plover (many)
American Avocet
Black-necked Stilt (~10)
Greater Yellowlegs (1/2 dozen)
Lesser Yellowlegs (~10)
Solitary Sandpiper (by itself)
Spotted Sandpiper
Short-billed Dowitcher (~12)
Pectoral Sandpiper
Western Sandpiper
Semipalmated Sandpiper (~30, maybe more)
Least Sandpiper (many)
