After 2 hours of birding the Chekika area, I spotted a White-tailed Kite over a field to the north of SW 168th St., about the area previously reported by Brian and Steve, at 10am. The bird hovered, dove for prey and, just when I thought I had lost it, flew right over my head. Later in the day, I enjoyed 6 Swallow-tailed Kites at the end of Research Road, ENP.
Two kites in one day--a wonderful gift to bring back to NYC.
