Across 97 ave from the landfill there is a dirt road that leads to a waste collection site. A sign says no trucks, but I wasn't driving a truck. There is a nice wet field in there where I've found Black-bellied Whistling ducks and shorebirds in the past. The godwit flew east over this field towards the landfill. I got in the car and took off as fast as I could but could not find where it landed. From a gate I could see some ponds inside the landfill with a few SB Dowitchers, Yellowlegs, and 2 Solitary Sandpipers. Hopefully we can relocate it tomorrow.
