Thanks, Paul. I still don't know what that bird was. The distinguishing feature was that it was yellow. I have seen budgies of a similar color, but this bird was much too big for a budgie. My thought was that perhaps, like budgies, this is a human-derived cultivar of some other species, perhaps a Ring-necked. The bird has not returned.
