We were cruising slowly when we saw the bird fly from one side of the airboat trail to the other, that is when we slowed and shut off the engine. We coasted over to the area where we saw it fly to and started looking for it, when it climbed up a reed and gave us great looks. The bird went back down and started to pick insects off the reeds. The bird was foraging near the water on a reed of Cattail (Typha spp.) We watched it for about five minutes then had to get going. We were able to see the white streaks down the back as well as the bold eyebrow line. We would not report a bird that is out of its summer territory unless we were sure of what we saw. Good birds are out there we just need to look for them.
