I'd be inclined to say they were Cave Swallows form location and time of year, but some recent early sightings of migrants means anything is possible. However, your description sounds more like Cave than Cliff. The rump on the Cliff will be pale, not rufous like a Cave. Also, the throat on the Cliff will be very dark. The Cliff just looks darker to me than the Caves. If you see them again, take a close look at these features. Cave Swallows (Caribbean Race) are here in summer; the Cliffs will be arriving very soon in their migration south.
