I checked for the Bahama Mockingbird this afternoon by Homestead Gas. As soon as we walked in front of Homestead Gas a bird flew low into the bushes on the north east side of the building. I was pretty sure that it may have been a Bahama Mockingbird based on the 2-second look we got. When we finally found the bird that flew into the bush, we found a Brown Thrasher! This could easily be confused with a Bahama Mockingbird, perhaps this is what Michael saw? Brown Thrasher is a very uncommon bird in the keys!
