I'm not sure if it's the same Bird that was spotted in Dagney Johnson SP. But i did spot a Bahama Mocking bird at work today, behind homestead gas at the 105.7mm bayside in north Key Largo. I was out getting some paper work out of my truck when I spotted it on a wire just above where it was parked. This may be same bird it is only about a mile from where it has been spotted in DJSP. I didn't have my camra at the time. I got it and waited for it to return. I was not able to get a pic. but waws able to see it a few more times flying back and forth from the set of trees in the back of the plant to another in the front catching bugs. I will be keeping an eye out to see if it may hang around the area and for a photo op. The area arond our plant seems to attract all types of birds picking at the insect population. Northern mockingbirds, Grey kingbirds, least terns (several), cardnals, blue jays, Red bellied woodpeckers, and egrets just to name a few. The least terns have seem to take up home in some banyan trees behind boaters world and spend a good part of the day chasing who ever has the food at the time. I did save a nestling that good out of its nest before a strong storm hit. Took it to the wild bird center so they could take care it till it can fly and release it.
