: This male Red-Legged Honeycreeper is most likely an escaped exotic, as there is an exotic bird importer that lives in the area were the sightings have occured.
: Be on the lookout for other exotics, as he has recently had additional birds escape. I have seen this man selling Honeycreepers at bird sales, and they looked in excellent plumage, no cage damage whatsoever. Forgot to mention, since his bird holding facility is located at 20710 SW 248th St. in Homestead, it might be worthwhile birding in that area to spot some other escaped exotics.
