We don't get Glossy Ibis often on Key Biscayne, so I can't comment on their feeding behavior. However, we do have gray-morph Beach Chickens. The White Ibis on Crandon Beach stick their heads and necks (sometimes entire bodies!) into the mesh trash containers and pick through discarded charcoal ash, turning their feathers a semi-permanent dark gray.
