Unable to join the scheduled walks, or more prized morning hours, I was able to get over to Barnes from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. No Bay-breasted, but I did have 9 warbler species:
Parula, Cape May, BT Blue, Blackpoll, Black-and-white, Palm, Redstart, Magnolia, and N. Waterthrush. What was most amazing after a very slow migration were the sheer numbers of warblers. I saw several dozen Blackpoll and Redstart, at least a dozen BTBlue, and at least 2 of every other species except the waterthrush. There were even 4 Magnolia Warblers floating around the boardwalk area...

The warblers seemed to be drifting over towards the canal in the late afternoon, possibly getting ready to jump north (and explaining why postings looked a bit dead on Sunday)

Also there were a pair of Brown Thrashers around the nature building.

Does anyone (Jill?) know if Common Myna has been seen at Barnes? If not, it shouldn't be long...there was one flying around the car dealership just west of the park on Bird Rd.
