Thanks - it does seem to be one of the glossy-starlings (Lamprotornis). However, I can't find good enough images of the greater blue-eared glossy-starling and the others in the genus to be absolutely sure about the species. I don't have a photo of the bird I saw, unfortunately.
Has anyone else out there in Miami/South Florida seen this species flying free?
