Palm warblers galore! Okay, it isn't exotic but they do come very close to the camera and are simply a delight to watch. This little fella had us backing up to take the picture.

Moorhens are hatching all over Green Cay. It is a good crop year. And purple gallinules are as common as they used to be at Anhinga Trail in the early 50's. And then the usual cast of characters such as glossy ibis (6), coot (50+) Common egret (6), Limpkin saw 4 heard more, blue wing teal (20), grackles, red-wings (who counts?), purple martins all attending their nests, a red bellied woodpecker nest that would be a chip shot for a 50 mm lens it is so close to the boardwalk, and of course that darling of the duck set---mottled ducks in all quadrants. Boy does Green Cay have the mottled ducks!

Best news? It poured down rain at 10:30.
