The Long Key Natural Area and Pine Island Ridge (including Treetops Park)are the only areas in the Ft. Lauderdale CBC circle where we've found Carolina Wrens in recent years. The only areas in the county that I know of where these birds seem to be holding their own is between US 27 and the levee south of Everglades Holiday Park (Griffin Road) and perhaps in the larger tree islands in the glades.

White-eyed Vireo is another once common breeding species that has been driven to the fringe in Broward but it isn't as obvious because during the fall, winter, and spring its population is supplemented by migrants and wintering birds.
