My team participated in the Birdathon this weekend and had a wonderful outing. Most significant was the sighting of a potential Nashville Warbler in the dense cover at Flamingo. The bird was clearly visible and we watched it take a bath in water caught in the leaves. The head was clear olive-gray, breast feathers yellow and wings were brown with streaks. We ran back to the car to get out Sibley's and could only confirm this unusual sighting. Anybody with any other possiblity?
And just to add to the excitment we had a family group of brown headed nuthatches out and milling about in the pine trees at Long Key.
