Does anybody know if Sport-breasted Orioles eat bird eggs or chicks? I had two of them land in one of my trees today. After a short time one of them flew into the tree with an active Northern Cardinal nest. I walked over and he or she was within inches of the nest. The nest is only about seven feet off of the ground, so I shooed it away. I think the male and female cardinals were away from the nest at the time. I ve seen the cardinals feed something in the nest, but I can t tell how many chicks there are in the nest without disturbing the nest. I ve been watching the nest for about two weeks. I hate to see it all come to an end with a couple of Spot-breasted Orioles. Thank you in advance.
